Art is an expression of the soul. *************************** My beautiful wife and I on our Sunday morning 6 mile hike. My beautiful wife and I on our Sunday morning 6 mile hike. These are stories about My Artist's Journey ...... Well, there is an old saying that says, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him you made plans". It's been about 8 weeks since my last 'Artists Journey' story. Life happened and I had to attend to some pressing issues. To make a long story short, here is a summary. Cindi's eye doctor discovered a tear inside her eye. As always, nothing is simple. It took some time, about eight weeks of various procedures, but we got the issue fixed. I of course my priority will always be to take care of her. She is fine now. I have been recovering from my prostate surgery and slowly regaining my stamina. Cancer is still inside me but it seems to be dormant for the time being. We'll be watching it. I also had my routine colonoscopy. Everything turned out OK. I'm about 90% back to normal. Lastly, I went to the 20th anniversary Susan K. Black Artists Workshop. I've been to every one of them. The workshop kept me busy from 5 AM until 11 PM every day, all week. It was great. Renewing my friendships with my fellow artist rejuvenates me. I think my artistic batteries are recharged. I'm teaching six classes per week in my studio. That keeps me busy and happy. I know that I am making a difference. 2021 SKB Quick Draw 2021 SKB Quick Draw Painting 2021 SKB Zoom Demo Painting 2021 SKB Zoom Demo Painting As usual, at the SKB Workshop, I participated in the instructor's "Quick Draw" and donated that painting to the Thursday night auction. I'm happy to say that it sold. Funds generated from the auction help support future workshops. I also presented live a 2-hour ZOOM demo at the workshop that was broadcasted worldwide. I had a nice audience both online and in the classroom. I think that I did a good job as there were lots of good questions from my audience. I'm back home and in my studio. Things are getting back to normal. I'm hoping that the rest of this year will not present any more unwanted surprises. I'll start continuing my "Artists Journey" stories next week. Thanks for understanding. I'm also posting more on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram! I hope that during this pandemic we all are learning things about ourselves in order to reshape our lives. This is the time to make sure that we redesign our lives to appreciate each moment we have. I've been inspired by so many people who have put the well-being of others ahead of themselves. I realize that life is all too short and fragile. Perhaps we all should be grateful for this time. We should use what's left of it wisely. I encourage you to make your list of what you need to get done (there will never be a better time), projects that you've been meaning to finish, ways to enrich your lives, and new things you want to do to learn and help you grow. I'm creating paintings I've always wanted to do. I'm listening more and talking less. Classes & Workshops make memorable and lasting gifts!
